You’re Invited to the Annual CD4 Vento Dinner

Please join the 4th Congressional District DFL and Congresswoman Betty McCollum for the annual CD4 DFL Bruce Vento Dinner on Sunday, September 21st, 2025 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM!

This year’s event will feature a social hour, buffet style dinner, cash bar, silent and live auctions, notable guest speakers, and live music by local singer/songwriter Lisa Deguiseppi! Accessible seating, parking and bathrooms are on site.

A portion of your ticket price may be eligible for Minnesota’s Political Contribution Refund Program! There will also be an online silent auction to benefit CD4, which has already started. You do not need to be at the event to bid. View the Silent Auction here.

Tickets are $75 provided we are able to fill our tables. So far, we already have 11 people signed up, but we need more (tables seat 8). Please RSVP to Deb Douglas at ddouglas966@gmail.com if you would like to be seated with the other SD40 attendees. If not, separate tickets can be purchased here.

Silent Auction Items Needed for the Vento Dinner

There are 11 Senate districts in Congressional District 4. At last year’s Vento dinner over 50% of the money raised from the silent auction came from items donated by SD 40. This year, a challenge was presented to all other districts to contribute items with a market value of at least $500. (We won’t know what the items actually raise until the bidding is over.) The district that offers items with the highest cumulative market value will get preferred table placement. For example, we could get Silver level seating for Bronze seating ticket prices.

So please think about items you could donate to this silent auction.

What kinds of things make good silent auction items?

1. Experiences like:
   1. A day of boating on your boat, especially if there is a hook like a picnic lunch on an island in the Mississippi, or something similar
   2. A weekend “rental” at your lake cabin
   3. An evening with a dignitary or celebrity
2. Specialty crafts including cooking
   1. 10 dozen Christmas cookies baked by the fabulous SD40 Holiday Bake Sale bakers
   2. Other seasonal treats
   3. Significant crocheting, woodworking, sewing or other crafts
3. Interesting attic or closet finds
   1. Political memorabilia
   2. Some antiques
