The upcoming special election in House District 40B has been moved to Tuesday, March 11! You can find your polling place here and find the full special election information at the MN Secretary of State website.
Your DFL neighbors endorsed candidate David Gottfried on January 1. You can learn more about him and help get him elected by visiting his website: david-gottfried.com
Please note that the special election on March 11 overlaps with the Roseville school district’s spring break, but there are a few options to vote early in case you’ll be out of town:
Absentee voting starts February 21 (updated 2/13): request an absentee ballot by mail here.
You can vote early in-person at the Ramsey County Elections building, 90 W Plato Blvd. in Saint Paul during the following times:
- 8:00 a.m–4:30 p.m. on February 21 (Fri) through March 7 (Fri) (updated 2/21)
- 9:00 a.m–3:00 p.m. on March 8 (Sat)
- 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. on March 10 (Mon)
Due to the short time-frame for the special election, election officials are recommending that if you request an absentee ballot by mail, you should return it in-person at the Ramsey County Elections building, 90 W Plato Blvd. in Saint Paul. Don’t mail it back, as it might not arrive in time. Note that a person can drop off absentee ballots for up to three other voters, so a spouse, family member, friend or neighbor, etc., can return your absentee ballot for you at 90 W. Plato Blvd during the in-person early voting hours above. You will need to show identification with name and signature when returning a ballot for someone else. (updated 2/21)
Unfortunately, there are currently no options to vote early or drop off ballots in Roseville or Shoreview, but we will update this page if that changes!
