Help us Fill Our Donut Booth Shifts

It’s that time of year again when we ask for volunteers to work a shift or two at the Grandstand Mini-Donuts booth at the Minnesota State Fair to benefit SD40 DFL. By volunteering at the donut booth, you help raise money for our SD40 local candidates and help support the work of the local party (city festivals, precinct caucuses, sample ballots, SD40 Conventions, etc.).

As of August 6, we still have openings on 8 of our 9 shifts, 5 Shift Lead positions, 15 Cashier and 21 Bagger positions.  Our most critical needs include all closing shifts and all shifts on September 1, Labor Day.

This year, we need 8 volunteers per shift. Specifically, we need shift leads, cashiers, donut wranglers, and scoop station operators. You don’t need prior training (except for cashiers), but you do need to be able to stand for a couple of hours between breaks.

As a volunteer, you’ll get:

  • A free ticket to the fair.
  • Satisfaction knowing you are helping our local DFL Party and our candidates.
  • A chance to get to know other DFLers from our area.
  • A free drink coupon to use during one of your breaks.
  • Joy in seeing the faces of people who love to eat our mini-donuts.
  • Small commitment, big payoff.

The State Fair is in just a couple of weeks! Please don’t delay, and click here to sign up for a shift today. Thank you!
